Don't miss this once-in-a-generation opportunity to see one of the world's greatest medieval treasures. For the first time in almost 1,000 years, the legendary Bayeux Tapestry leaves France to take centre stage in a spectacular exhibition at the British Museum. Stretching nearly 70 metres in length, this remarkable, embroidered masterpiece vividly tells the dramatic story of the Norman Conquest and the Battle of Hastings in 1066. Through stunning detail and fascinating storytelling, follow the events that changed the course of English history forever.

Your visit includes entry to this specially curated exhibition, where the tapestry is displayed in carefully controlled surroundings to protect this priceless work of art. After your visit, enjoy time to explore the British Museum's world-renowned collections or discover the shops, cafés and atmosphere of Bloomsbury and central London. This is a truly historic event and an exhibition not to be missed.

Your ticket includes admission to the special Bayeux Tapestry Experience, with timed entry slots between 12.20pm and 12.40pm. Please arrive at the exhibition entrance 30 minutes before your allocated entry time. The immersive experience follows a one-way route and takes approximately 40 minutes to complete. Before or after your timed entry, you're free to discover the British Museum's remarkable collections, including treasures from ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome and beyond. (Some temporary exhibitions may carry an additional admission charge.) There is also a gift shop, cafés, restaurant and pizzeria on site. Photography is permitted (no flash), however drawing and sketching are not allowed. Please note that buggies and large bags cannot be taken into the exhibition. A paid cloakroom is available, subject to capacity.
