Anti Modern Slavery Policy

Modern slavery is against the law and a violation of basic human rights. With a zero-tolerance policy toward modern slavery, Laguna is dedicated to acting morally and implementing efficient processes and controls to make sure that it never occurs within our own company or any of our supply networks.

As part of our contracting procedures, we demand the same high standards from all of our suppliers, contractors, and other business partners. All individuals working for us or representing us in any capacity, including employees at all levels, are subject to the terms and conditions of this policy. This policy is not included in any employee's employment contract, and we reserve the right to make changes.

Responsibility for the policy

The Company is ultimately responsible for making sure that everyone under its direction complies with this policy and that it upholds it’s legal and moral duties. The Company is primarily responsible for carrying out this policy on an on-going basis, overseeing its application and effectiveness, responding to inquiries concerning it, and evaluating organisational systems and procedures to make sure they are successful in preventing modern slavery.

It is the duty of management at all levels to ensure that those under their supervision understand this policy, abide by it, and get proper and ongoing training on it.

Compliance with the policy

You must ensure that you read, understand, and adhere with this policy.

All individuals working for us or under our authority are accountable for the prevention, detection, and reporting of modern slavery in any aspect of our business or supply networks. Any action that could result in or imply a violation of this policy must be avoided. If you believe or suspect that a discrepancy with this policy has occurred or may occur in the future, you must contact your line manager immediately.

You are urged to voice any issues or suspicions of modern slavery as soon as possible in any area of our business or supply chains.

We will support and advise our suppliers to help them address coercive, abusive, and exploitative labour practises in their own businesses and supply chains, and where appropriate, with the welfare and safety of local workers as a priority.

Ask your line manager or the business director if you have any questions about whether a specific action, the treatment of employees generally, or their working circumstances inside any level of our supply chains fall under one of the different categories of modern slavery.

We want to promote openness and will assist anyone who, in accordance with our policy, expresses sincere concerns in good faith, even if such suspicions turn out to be incorrect. We are committed to making sure that no one experiences any negative treatment as a result of reporting their due diligence that modern slavery, in whatever form, may exist in any area of our own company.

Dismissal, reprimands, threats, or other unfavourable treatment because of voicing a concern are all considered as forms of negative treatment.

Communication & awareness of this policy

All new hires undergo training on this policy and the danger that our company confronts from modern slavery in its supply chains. Updates will be given utilising the established channels of communication between the company and you. All of our suppliers, contractors, and business partners must be made aware of our zero-tolerance policy for modern slavery at the commencement of our business relationship with them, and as necessary moving forward.

Breaches of this policy

Any employee who violates this policy will be subject to disciplinary action, which may include termination for misconduct or gross misconduct. If any other individuals or organisations working on our behalf violate this policy, we reserve the right to sever our association with them.
