Bicton Gardens, located in East Devon, England, is a historic botanical garden known for its beautifully landscaped grounds and diverse plant collections. Dating back to the early 18th century, the gardens are part of the Bicton Park Estate and cover approximately 64 acres. They showcase over 300 years of horticultural history, blending formal and informal styles, with influences from the Georgian, Victorian, and modern eras.

The gardens feature a wide variety of landscapes, including Italianate terraces, a palm house, a rock garden, and a woodland garden. The Italian Garden, inspired by classical design, is the most formal area, with symmetrical flowerbeds, topiary, fountains, and statues. The Palm House, built in 1825, is one of the oldest glasshouses in England, made from over 18,000 panes of glass. It houses a collection of exotic tropical plants, including palms and ferns.

Bicton Gardens also boasts an arboretum, with over 1,000 trees representing 300 species, some of which are rare or endangered. This collection includes majestic conifers, ancient oaks, and a variety of other species from around the world. The Pinetum, with its impressive array of conifers, is a key feature, showcasing towering redwoods, cypresses, and cedars.

Other attractions at Bicton Gardens include a countryside museum, which displays agricultural and gardening tools from the past, and a narrow-gauge railway that provides scenic rides around the park. There is also a children's play area, making the gardens a family-friendly destination.

Bicton Gardens are renowned for their seasonal beauty, with colorful displays throughout the year. Spring brings vibrant blooms of rhododendrons, azaleas, and magnolias, while summer showcases a range of herbaceous borders and roses. The gardens are open to visitors year-round, offering a blend of history, horticulture, and recreational activities in a picturesque setting.
