The remarkable Library, Sculpture Gallery, and Chapel all reflect the grandeur of the 18th century. The gardens are a highlight in themselves: sweeping lawns, tranquil lakes, and vibrant borders frame the magnificent Rhododendron Walks (open seasonally), while the formal terraces near the house burst with colour through spring and summer.

Accessibility

Much of Bowood’s parkland and gardens are accessible, with gentle slopes and firm paths around the terraces and lake. Some woodland areas can be uneven. Accessible parking and toilets are available, and the ground floor of the House is wheelchair friendly (upper floor by stairs only).
