Enjoy a beautifully balanced day discovering some of the Isle of Wights most loved sights, combining history, scenery, and charming villages all at a relaxed, unhurried pace.
Your day begins at Carisbrooke Castle, one of the islands most important historic landmarks. Set high above the countryside, the castle offers wonderful views, fascinating stories, and the chance to see the famous donkeys working the ancient well. Theres time to explore the grounds, browse the museum, and enjoy refreshments in the café.
From here, the tour continues to the picture-postcard village of Godshill. With its thatched cottages, traditional tearooms, and independent shops, this is the perfect place to enjoy lunch and soak up the character of rural island life. Many guests enjoy a gentle stroll around the village or simply relaxing with a cup of tea and cake.
You'll then be treated to one of the islands most iconic views at The Needles and Alum Bay. Here, dramatic chalk stacks rise from the sea, and the famous multi-coloured cliffs provide a stunning natural spectacle. The area is well laid out, making it ideal for coach parties, with viewpoints, shops, and facilities close by.
The day concludes in the historic harbour town of Yarmouth, allowing time to relax before the return ferry.
A delightful day out that blends heritage, scenery, and classic Isle of Wight charm.
Accessibility
Carisbrooke Castle has good coach access and level areas including the main courtyard, museum, café, and toilets. Some paths are uneven, and the ramparts involve steep slopes and steps, so these areas are not suitable for wheelchairs. Guests with limited mobility can still enjoy the grounds, donkeys, and facilities.
Your day begins with a scenic journey through the beautiful New Forest, where ancient woodland and open heathland are often dotted with roaming ponies, cattle, and deer. The route leads to the coastal town of Lymington, where you board the Wightlink ferry for a relaxing crossing across the Solent. Once on board, youre free to step off the coach, stretch your legs, and enjoy a coffee as you take in the sea views on your way to Yarmouth.
