Your admission includes access to three remarkable historic warships the Victorian sloop HMS Gannet, the destroyer HMS Cavalier and the Cold War submarine HM Submarine Ocelot. You can also visit the famous Victorian Ropery, where traditional rope-making techniques are still demonstrated, browse the museum collections or simply relax in one of the cafés during this memorable day out.
Discover over 400 years of Britain's rich naval history with a visit to The Historic Dockyard Chatham, one of the country's finest maritime heritage attractions. Explore the dockyard where famous Royal Navy ships were built and maintained, with historic buildings, interactive galleries and fascinating exhibitions bringing the past to life. Your visit includes the Official Call the Midwife Location Tour, taking you through the atmospheric streets used to portray Poplar in the much-loved television series. You'll also enjoy a guided Ropery Tour, where rope is still produced using traditional methods in one of the world's longest brick buildings, and a Submarine Tour of HMS Ocelot, offering a unique insight into life beneath the waves. Tea/coffee & biscuits are also included during your visit.
Accessibility
Much of the dockyard is accessible, with level or ramped access to many exhibitions, cafés and visitor facilities. The Call the Midwife Tour and Ropery Tour involve walking and some uneven historic surfaces. Please note that the HMS Ocelot submarine is accessed via steep ladders and narrow passageways and is not suitable for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility.
