Accessibility

Due to the natural terrain of Cheddar Gorge, many areas include steps, uneven surfaces and steep hills, making them unsuitable for wheelchairs users or people with mobility aids.

Cheddar Gorge & Caves is one of England’s most spectacular natural landmarks, located in Somerset. Famous for its dramatic limestone cliffs, the gorge stretches for about three miles and reaches depths of over 400 feet. Formed during the Ice Age, it features striking rock formations and hidden cave systems, including Gough’s Cave and Cox’s Cave. Visitors can explore underground chambers filled with stalactites and stalagmites, as well as learn about prehistoric human remains discovered in the area. Today, Cheddar Gorge is a popular destination for walking, climbing, and enjoying breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.
