The Faversham Hop Festival is one of Kent’s most popular annual celebrations, honouring the town’s rich hop-growing and brewing heritage that dates back centuries. Held every summer in the historic market town of Faversham, the festival began in 1990 as a way to preserve and celebrate the traditions of hop harvesting, which played a vital role in the local economy. Today, it attracts thousands of visitors who come to enjoy live music, street entertainment, colourful parades, Morris dancing, artisan markets, and family-friendly activities. Festival-goers can also sample local ales and ciders, explore Faversham’s charming streets, and learn about the region’s brewing history, making the event a vibrant blend of culture, community, and Kentish tradition.
