Step back in time and discover the fascinating history, legends, and charm of Glastonbury, one of England's most iconic market towns. Renowned for its rich heritage, mystical atmosphere, and connections to the legends of King Arthur, Glastonbury offers a unique blend of history, culture, and breathtaking scenery. Enjoy free time to explore the town's independent shops, cafés, and historic streets, or choose to enhance your visit with an optional guided tour of Glastonbury Abbey. Wander through the magnificent abbey ruins, learn about centuries of monastic history, and discover the site traditionally believed to be the resting place of King Arthur and Queen Guinevere.

For those who enjoy a little exercise, no visit to Glastonbury is complete without seeing the iconic Glastonbury Tor, one of Somerset's most famous landmarks. Rising dramatically above the surrounding countryside, the Tor offers spectacular panoramic views across the Somerset Levels. Steeped in myth and legend, it has long been associated with King Arthur, Avalon, and ancient spiritual traditions. At its summit stands the striking 14th-century St Michael's Tower, all that remains of a medieval church. Whether you choose to climb to the top or simply admire its distinctive silhouette, Glastonbury Tor is an unforgettable highlight of any visit.

Whether you're captivated by ancient history, legendary tales, or simply looking for a memorable day out, Glastonbury promises an unforgettable experience.

Accessibility

Glastonbury's town centre is generally accessible, with many shops, cafés and attractions located within easy walking distance. However, some streets are uneven and may include cobbles or gentle slopes. Please note that Glastonbury Tor is reached via a steep uphill footpath and is not suitable for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility. Glastonbury Abbey offers step-free access to much of the site, although some historic areas have uneven ground.
