Step into history at Knole, one of the largest houses in England and a true treasure of the National Trust. Originally built as an Archbishops palace in the 15th century, the house was later transformed into a lavish country seat by the powerful Sackville family, who still live here today.
Inside, youll discover grand showrooms filled with priceless collections of royal Stuart furniture, paintings, and tapestries, as well as the atmospheric Great Hall. Knole is sometimes called a calendar house with 365 rooms, 52 staircases, 12 entrances, and 7 courtyards.
Set within a 1,000-acre medieval deer park, the surrounding landscape is just as memorable, with ancient trees, wide open views, and the chance to spot herds of wild fallow deer roaming freely.
