Wander through the romantic ruins of the 14th-century moated castle, set within stunning landscaped gardens that burst with colour through every season. Explore the elegant Victorian country house, once home to the Hussey family, and enjoy sweeping views over the Weald of Kent. Stroll the winding paths, discover hidden corners of the gardens, and relax by the tranquil moat a true photographers dream.
Accessibility
Scotney Castle offers accessible parking, toilets, and step-free access to the shop, tearoom, and parts of the gardens. Mobility scooters and wheelchairs are available to borrow (advance booking recommended). Please note that the grounds include some steep slopes, uneven paths, and steps around the old castle ruins, which may make certain areas unsuitable for those with limited mobility. There is an external lift that gives access to the ground floor of the mansion house for wheelchairs. For visitors unable to use the stairs to the upper floor a video tour of the upstairs rooms is available.
