This as some might say in part a very treeless forest as there are great expanses without any trees. Keep an eye out as the forest still has many animals like the famous New Forest ponies, cows, highland cattle and deer all roam around freely. Our one stop in the forest is at the town of Burley or Lyndhurst, some say the capital of the forest, it has many cafés and coffee shops such a choice for lunch after which we return to the hotel stopping in Bournemouth for the hardened shoppers.

With time to visit one of four fascinating museums like the military museum with its costumes rifles and bayonets to the Tutankhamun exhibition, also the dinosaur museum and the Dorset museum featuring Thomas Hardy’s Dorset. Plenty of shops and cafés for that morning cup of coffee.
Then on to Weymouth, this seven mile drive is only short but passes the very historic remains of Maiden Castle through Martins Town and then into the beautiful historic Weymouth, politely put on the map by King George III. This exquisite Georgian town still has much to offer the visitor. Of course fish & chips are available all over and for those who like a gamble there are enough penny arcades to sink a battle ship, talking of which, more often than not you will find a small frigate or navel vessel moored along the quay. These will not be the only boats you will find the tall ships have an annual regatta at Weymouth which is also an excellent fishing port. As you wonder along the quay you’ll see the local fishermen bringing in their catch. For those not so interested in the fishy side of things beautiful sand stretches along the front from the pavilion along past the town. The keen shoppers have a great choice of high street shops with the new mixed with the old. Weymouth has the renowned Time Walk museum where you have the opportunity to step back in time with a narrated story of the old Weymouth brewery, from the invasion of the Spanish Armada right up to present day, an excellent day out for one and all.
