Athelhampton House is a stunning, historic manor, with origins dating back to the late 15th century. Built around 1485 by Sir William Martyn, a successful lawyer and Mayor of London, the house is a fine example of Tudor architecture. Over the centuries, Athelhampton has been expanded and renovated but retains its medieval charm and character. The house is centered around a beautiful Great Hall, which features a soaring timber roof, large stone fireplace, and intricate wood paneling. The Tudor-style architecture is characterized by its tall, narrow windows, pointed gables, and stone and brick facade.

Athelhampton is also renowned for its magnificent gardens, particularly the pyramid-shaped yew trees that line the grounds. These formal gardens, which date from the late 19th century, include various areas such as the Great Court, which is dominated by these iconic topiary pyramids, and a variety of water features, terraces, and flowerbeds.

Inside the house, there are several grand rooms filled with period furniture, tapestries, and art, giving visitors a glimpse of the elegance and opulence of English country living. It is a Grade I listed building and is often regarded as one of the finest examples of English heritage and Tudor architecture.
