Experience the vibrant atmosphere of Cowes Week, one of the world’s most iconic sailing events. Our relaxing cruise across the Solent offers wonderful sea views as colourful spinnakers fill the horizon and competitive racing unfolds around you. Arriving into the bustling harbour town of Cowes, you’ll have about 3 hours ashore to explore at your own pace. Stroll the charming high street, lined with independent boutiques, nautical shops and inviting cafés, or wander along the waterfront to watch the action from the shore. The town comes alive during Cowes Week, with a festive atmosphere, pop-up entertainment and lively marina scenes that capture the spirit of this famous regatta.

Whether you choose to enjoy a leisurely lunch, browse the sailing-themed stores, or simply soak up the coastal ambience, Cowes offers something for everyone during this extraordinary week of celebration on the Isle of Wight. On our return trip back to Southampton, a cream tea (traditional freshly baked scones with clotted cream, jam & a cup of tea) will be served.

Accessibility

Blue Funnel Cruises welcome manual wheelchairs aboard Ocean Scene, which also features a disabled toilet; please note that upper deck access is via stairs, and guests who need physical assistance should travel with a companion.

Cowes Week is one of the world’s longest-running and most prestigious sailing regattas, held every August in Cowes on the Isle of Wight. First established in 1826, it attracts hundreds of boats and thousands of visitors each year.

During the week, a wide variety of yachts – from high-performance racing boats to classic cruisers – compete in daily races on the Solent. Beyond the action on the water, Cowes comes alive with shoreside entertainment, live music, food stalls, and a vibrant festival atmosphere, making it a highlight of the British summer social calendar.
