The two villages are linked by the famous Lynton & Lynmouth Cliff Railway, the worlds highest and steepest fully water-powered funicular. Its a gentle and scenic ride that climbs over 500 feet, offering breathtaking coastal views & a single ticket is included with the trip. Accessibility
Lynmouth is mostly level and suitable for wheelchairs around the harbour and shops. The Cliff Railway is wheelchair accessible, linking Lynmouth with the higher village of Lynton. Accessible toilets are available in both villages.
Lynton & Lynmouth grace the border of Exmoor, with Lynmouth nestled alongside the sea featuring a quaint harbor and rows of charming fishing cottages, complemented by an array of shops, cafes, restaurants, and pubs. Lynton, an antique Victorian town, preserves a harmonious blend of old-world charm and contemporary elements. The town boasts captivating architecture, notably the Town Hall and the intriguingly named Valley of Rocks Hotel, both deserving a closer look.
